P.J.M. Rhododendron (Rhododendron 'PJM') is a hybrid rhododendron that is prized for its showy, pinkish-purple flowers and its ability to thrive in colder climates. It is a cross between Rhododendron carolinianum and Rhododendron dauricum, and is named after Peter J. Mezitt, a prominent plant breeder who developed many popular cultivars of rhododendrons.

This plant typically grows to a height of 4-6 feet with a similar spread. Its leaves are a dark green color and are evergreen, providing year-round interest. In early spring, the plant produces clusters of small, pinkish-purple flowers that are very showy and attract pollinators.

P.J.M. Rhododendron prefers partial shade and well-draining soil that is rich in organic matter. It is a low-maintenance plant that requires little pruning or other care, making it a great choice for gardeners looking for an easy-to-care-for shrub. It is also relatively cold-hardy and can tolerate temperatures as low as -25°F.

This shrub is often used as a specimen plant or in mass plantings in woodland gardens, shrub borders, or as a hedge. Its showy flowers and evergreen foliage make it a great choice for gardens designed to provide year-round interest. It can also be used in containers on patios or decks.
