Warranty & Returns

Standard Warranty:

All of our trees and shrubs come with a 30-day warranty from the date of delivery. This means that if your tree/shrub is damaged in shipment or if it dies within 30 days of your delivery, we will gladly offer a replacement or credit. Should you receive your tree/shrub during dormancy, and it does not emerge from dormancy by June 1st - the same replacement policy applies.

If, within this period, you notice any issues with the health or condition of your plants, please contact us immediately. We will work with you to provide a suitable solution.

1 Year Extended Warranty Option:

For added peace of mind, we offer a 1 year extended warranty option. You can choose to purchase an extended warranty for 12% of your cart total at the time of purchase. This extended warranty covers your trees and shrubs for 1 year from the date of delivery. If your tree/shrub dies within the extended warranty period, we will provide you with a replacement plant or issue store credit for the amount of your original purchase. Shipping fees are not included.

3. Warranty Claim Process:

If you need to make a warranty claim, please follow these steps:

  • Contact our customer support team at as soon as you notice any issues with your plant's health.
  • Provide your order number, a description of the issue, and photos documenting the issue.
  • We may request additional photos or other information to assess the problem.

How are heights measured?

Tree and Shrub heights are measured from the top of the root ball or soil, measuring only the above ground portion of your tree or shrub.

How does shipping work?

Many items are listed in Gallon sizes, what does that mean?

Are you in search of the perfect ground cover to enhance the beauty of your garden and simplify your landscaping efforts? Look no further than the Appalachian Sedge (Carex Appalachica). This versatile and hardy perennial grass is a must-have for any garden enthusiast. With its adaptability, beautiful foliage, and low-maintenance nature, it's the ideal choice for both novice and experienced gardeners.

Key Features:

Growing Zones: The Appalachian Sedge thrives in USDA hardiness zones 4-8. Whether your garden is situated in the cooler northern regions or the milder climates of the South, this sedge can flourish, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of locations.

Basic Care Tips:

  1. Light Requirements: Appalachian Sedge prefers partial to full shade but can tolerate some sun, making it a great choice for both shaded and semi-sunny areas in your garden.

  2. Soil Conditions: This sedge is adaptable to a variety of soil types, but it thrives in well-draining, moist soil. Make sure your soil provides good drainage to prevent waterlogging.

  3. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, but avoid overwatering. Water deeply when the top inch of soil becomes dry. Once established, it can handle periods of drought.

  4. Pruning: Appalachian Sedge is a low-maintenance plant. You can trim it back in late winter or early spring to encourage fresh growth, but it's not necessary for its overall health.

  5. Pest and Disease Resistance: This sedge is remarkably resistant to pests and diseases, which means less worry and more enjoyment of your garden.

  6. Versatile Ground Cover: Use Appalachian Sedge to create lush, textural ground cover in shaded areas or around trees. It's an excellent choice for erosion control on slopes and in rain gardens.

  7. Wildlife Attraction: Birds and small wildlife are attracted to this sedge, making it a beautiful addition to any natural habitat or wildlife-friendly garden.

  8. Year-Round Beauty: With its slender, arching, green foliage, the Appalachian Sedge provides an attractive backdrop for other garden plants. It maintains its charm year-round, adding structure and interest even in the winter months.
