Are you looking to add a touch of elegance and fragrance to your garden? Look no further than the Blue Spire Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis 'Blue Spire'). With its striking blue-green foliage and delicate purple-blue flowers, this aromatic herb is not only a feast for the eyes but also a culinary delight. Let's delve into the world of Blue Spire Rosemary and learn how to cultivate this beauty in your garden.

Growing Zones: Blue Spire Rosemary is a versatile and hardy herb, capable of thriving in a range of climates. It is ideally suited for USDA hardiness zones 7 to 10, but it can also be grown as an annual or potted plant in cooler regions. In zones 7-10, this evergreen herb graces your garden year-round with its beauty and fragrance, making it a wonderful addition to both novice and experienced gardeners alike.

Basic Care Tips:

1. Sunlight: Blue Spire Rosemary thrives in full sun, so make sure to plant it in an area where it can soak up at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily. This ensures robust growth and flavorful foliage.

2. Soil: Well-draining, slightly acidic soil is the key to a happy Blue Spire Rosemary plant. Sandy or loamy soil with good drainage is ideal for this herb.

3. Watering: While Blue Spire Rosemary is drought-tolerant once established, it still requires regular watering during the initial growth phase. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot.

4. Pruning: Regular pruning not only helps maintain the plant's shape but also encourages bushier growth. Prune your Blue Spire Rosemary in the spring to remove dead or woody branches, and lightly trim throughout the growing season to maintain its desired shape.

5. Fertilizing: Blue Spire Rosemary doesn't demand heavy feeding. Fertilize sparingly with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in the spring to support healthy growth.

6. Pests and Diseases: This variety of rosemary is relatively pest and disease-resistant. However, keep an eye out for issues like root rot in poorly drained soil or aphid infestations, which can be managed with organic remedies.
