Standard Warranty:

All of our trees and shrubs come with a 30-day warranty from the date of delivery. How are heights measured?

Tree and Shrub heights are measured from the top of the root ball or soil, measuring only the above ground portion of your tree or shrub.

Description

The Forest Pansy Redbud (Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy') is a truly enchanting ornamental tree that adds a touch of elegance and a splash of color to your landscape. Known for its breathtaking heart-shaped leaves, striking foliage color, and graceful form, the Forest Pansy Redbud is a favorite among garden enthusiasts. This stunning tree not only provides year-round interest but also attracts pollinators, making it a perfect addition to gardens of all sizes.

Attributes:

  • Mature Height: The Forest Pansy Redbud typically reaches a mature height of 20 to 30 feet, creating a striking yet manageable presence in your garden. Its graceful, multi-stemmed form and spreading canopy provide a beautiful focal point.

  • Exposure Requirements: This redbud thrives in full sun to partial shade. Plant it in an area where it can receive ample sunlight, particularly in the morning, to promote healthy growth and vibrant foliage.

  • Growing Zones: Ideal for growing zones 5 to 9, the Forest Pansy Redbud adapts well to a wide range of climates, making it suitable for gardens in various regions.

  • Heart-Shaped Leaves: The standout feature of this redbud is its stunning, heart-shaped leaves. The foliage emerges in shades of deep burgundy-purple in spring, gradually transitioning to a rich maroon in summer. As autumn arrives, the leaves transform to hues of yellow, orange, and scarlet, creating a breathtaking display of fall color.

  • Spring Blossoms: In early spring, before the foliage fully emerges, the Forest Pansy Redbud produces charming clusters of pea-like pink to magenta blossoms, creating a lovely contrast against the emerging dark leaves. These blooms also serve as an early-season nectar source for pollinators, making it an essential tree for supporting bees and butterflies.

  • Low Maintenance: Once established, the Forest Pansy Redbud is relatively low maintenance. It requires minimal pruning, mainly for shaping or removing any dead or crossing branches. Its natural resistance to pests and diseases adds to its ease of care.

  • Versatile Use: Whether used as a standalone specimen, as part of a mixed border, or in a woodland garden, the Forest Pansy Redbud brings elegance and charm to any setting. It's perfect for smaller landscapes or as an accent tree in larger gardens.

  • Wildlife Attraction: The spring blossoms of the Forest Pansy Redbud attract pollinators, contributing to the ecological value of your garden. The heart-shaped leaves also provide cover for birds and small wildlife.
