The Keiffer Pear Tree is a popular and resilient cultivar, known for its superb disease resistance and bountiful harvests. Its large, golden pears are a delectable combination of sweet and tangy, making them perfect for eating fresh, canning, or baking.
Size: Our Keiffer Pear Tree reaches a mature height of 15 to 20 feet, presenting a striking presence in your landscape while producing an abundance of fruit.
Growing Zones: This hardy tree thrives in USDA growing zones 4-9, making it suitable for a wide range of climates. Whether you're in the sunny South or the chilly North, you can enjoy the pleasures of homegrown pears.
Care Tips:
-
Planting: Select a sunny location with well-draining soil to ensure optimal growth. Plant your Keiffer Pear Tree in the spring, giving it time to establish strong roots before the cold weather sets in.
-
Pruning: Regular pruning during the dormant season helps shape the tree, improve airflow, and promote fruit production. Remove any dead or diseased branches to maintain the tree's health.
-
Fertilizing: Feed your Keiffer Pear Tree with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in the spring to provide essential nutrients for robust growth and a bountiful harvest.
-
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry spells. Mulching around the base of the tree helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.
-
Pest and Disease Management: The Keiffer Pear Tree is known for its strong resistance to common pear tree diseases, but it's still important to monitor for any signs of trouble and take appropriate action if necessary.
