Elevate your garden with the timeless beauty of our Hardy Sheep Laurel (Kalmia angustifolia). Also known as Lambkill, this evergreen shrub is a must-have for any landscape enthusiast. With its lustrous green foliage and clusters of delicate, bell-shaped flowers, the Sheep Laurel adds a touch of elegance to gardens, borders, and woodland settings.

Growing Zones: Thriving in USDA hardiness zones 5-8, the Hardy Sheep Laurel is a versatile and resilient addition to gardens across a wide geographic range. Whether you're cultivating a garden in the Northeast or the Pacific Northwest, this evergreen beauty is sure to captivate with its year-round allure.

Basic Care Tips:

  1. Sunlight: Plant your Sheep Laurel in a location that receives partial to full sunlight. While it can tolerate some shade, providing ample sunlight will encourage optimal growth and flowering.

  2. Soil: Ensure well-draining, acidic soil for your Hardy Sheep Laurel. Incorporate organic matter into the soil to enhance its fertility and moisture retention.

  3. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the growing season. Water deeply when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Mulching around the base helps retain moisture and regulates soil temperature.

  4. Pruning: Light pruning after flowering can help maintain a compact shape and stimulate new growth. Remove dead or damaged branches as needed throughout the year.

  5. Fertilization: Feed your Sheep Laurel with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in spring to promote healthy growth. Avoid excessive fertilization, as this shrub is adapted to nutrient-poor soils.

  6. Winter Protection: In colder climates, consider applying a layer of mulch around the base of the plant to protect the roots from winter frost.
